Pom Pom Gracilaria Macroalgae, Aquacultured

Pom Pom Gracilaria macroalgae
Our Clean Macroalgae is aquacultured in large vats not connected to any fish system to avoid possible parasite or bacteria contamination. You can place our macroalgae directly in your tank without worry.

Description: Pom Pom Gracilaria macro algae is a strong nutrient exporter that grows exceptionally fast. Beautiful fluorescent red color makes it sightly for main displays. Pictures don’t do this stuff justice! One of the most sought after algae for marine aquariums and refugiums. Pom Pom Gracilaria is a much thinner version of Gracilaria with its own unique growth pattern and is sure to be one of your center piece algae for your tank. We use this algae extensively in all of our tanks because of its beauty and nutrient uptake.

Uniquely shaped macroalgae grows in spherical clumps. The red Gracilaria Hayi plant, sometimes also referred to as pom pom algae or birds nest algae, is an unusually beautiful macroalgae. Between bright red and bergundy in hue and graced with sharply tapered, forked fronds, it adds a splash of color and texture to any tank. It is also prized by many keepers of herbivorous fishes (especially tangs) as a great live seaweed food. A great element to add to medium to high flow refugiums, algae reactors and inventive displays. Great as a natural fish food and for absorbing excess nutrients. Gracilaria Hayi will not attach itself to rocks or substrate. Trim your algae periodically to directly remove the absorbed toxins from your water or use it as food for your herbivore fish.

*Guarantee Restriction: All of our livestock are guaranteed. However for one or more of these species, they may be marked with a guarantee restriction. If it does, it means the specific animal may not handle stress from environmental conditions well. These stresses can include poor water quality, harassment from tank mates or confined aquarium conditions. When stressed, these species can lose the ability to ward off infection and disease. Other species may be listed as Restricted because they have such specialized feeding requirements that is difficult recreate in a aquarium and may succumb to malnutrition.
